Chaos Snapshot
What's actually broken?
20 minutes. One painful area. Blunt feedback. $299.
Purpose
To give you an honest, external read on one specific area of operational pain in 20 minutes, with no commitment beyond the call itself.
This is a paid, time-boxed review that produces real feedback on a real problem. If the feedback is not useful, you do not pay.
What This Surfaces
This engagement does not force decisions. It answers one question: is the pain you are experiencing structural or cosmetic?
Twenty minutes with an experienced outside observer is enough to distinguish between a system that is messy and a system that is broken in ways that will get worse. The Snapshot tells you which one you are looking at and whether it warrants deeper investigation.
When This Service Is Used
You have a specific area that hurts and you want an experienced outside perspective without committing to a multi-week engagement.
Typical entry signals include:
- You cannot tell whether a problem is structural or just accumulated mess
- Your team disagrees about whether something is actually a problem
- You just inherited a system and do not know what is load-bearing and what is debris
- You are about to make a build-or-buy decision and want a sanity check on what you are actually dealing with
- You have been staring at the same problem long enough that you have lost perspective
What We Do
A closed list of concrete actions performed during this engagement. If an activity is not listed here, it is not included.
- Review one operational area via live screen-share for exactly 20 minutes
- Deliver blunt, real-time feedback on what is observed during the session
- Produce a written summary within 24 hours containing observations, an assessment of whether the pain is structural, and whether further investigation is warranted
What We Explicitly Do Not Do
- Conduct a mini Chaos Assessment or any form of comprehensive review
- Provide tool recommendations, vendor comparisons, or architecture advice
- Deliver a score, grade, benchmark, or maturity rating
- Extend the session beyond 20 minutes for any reason
- Expand scope to additional areas during the call
- Provide recommendations beyond what is directly observable in the session
Service Invariants
Conditions that are always true for this service, regardless of context.
- Feedback is delivered even when uncomfortable
- One area per session, no exceptions
- Observations are based on what is shown, not on what is described
- The session is exactly 20 minutes and does not extend
- This is not filtered for comfort, consensus, or politics
